3lnb or 5lnb question & Install Nightmare

When I upgraded to hd last week, the installer put up a 3lnb. Am I reading correctly in the forums that this will not be any good once all the channels go to hd? Should I make them come back and put up a 5lnb dish?

He also cracked the siding on the side of my garage during the install by not pre drilling the holes and almost electrocuted himself by drilling into a 200 amp cable. He missed it by about a 1/2 inch. He also couldn't figure out how to run a wire onto the second floor from the new dish, so I'm without service in the bedroom. Really professional job by direchtech northeast.

They should have installed the 5-lnb dish. Just FYI, the 5-lnb dish may appear to have only 3-lnbs but it actually has five. You need to make 100% certain what type of dish you have before calling DirecTV.

You know it really makes me cringe to think what some of these installers can do to your house! Sorry to hear about that.

There's also a slimline version which isn't in wide distribution (yet).
