No fee DVRs?

A couple of years ago I bought a Dish Network DVR on eBay that did not require a service fee. Are there any HD DVRs out there that also do not require the monthly service fee? Also, how does the 921 compare with the current 622? Any major differences?

I believe the only receivers without dvr fees are the 501 and 508. There is a lot of differences between the 921 and 622. 921 mpeg2 HD two tuner input with ota with only one output, you can only record two programs at once even with ota, only one output available at one time (ie: if HD is output, all sd outputs shut off and vice versa. 622 mpeg4 two tuner input (ota is third tuner) and two outputs, record three programs at same time (ota would be one), all outputs are active all times. There are a lot more differences, but these are the major ones. Also HD will not be activated one the 921 anymore, if only receiver on account. Do not believe there is an HD access fee for the ota but could be wrong on this one. There are many more differences but these are the major ones.

Also, there are no dvr fees if you have the "everything" package including the hd dvr. (vip 622)
