622 remote question

A month ago I had a problem where the primary (1) remote screwed up and wouldn't control the 622, instead it would try changing channels on the TV. After hours on the phone with dish they sent me a new remote free. The first one is working again and I'm using it to see if the same thing is going to happen again.

Here's my question. The new remote came with plastic keys that clip into the bottom of the remote (1=green 2=blue) and it even came with keys for other units. I want to splice into the second output, going to the master bedroom and put a flat panel TV in the master bath. If the remote keeps working can I set it up as a remopte for the second tuner? Will the 622 let me or when I configure the second remote will I loose the first (for the second TV)? I'm not as willing to experiment since the help at Dish could even answer the basic questions (like what is the A-B switch under the batteries).

The No 2 remote is generally the one you would use in a room away from your Dish receiver. It is a combined IR and UHF remote, model IR/UHF 6.3.
The one (1) used at the receiver (what you called 'primary') is model no. 5.3 IR. It only works line of sight (or with an IR extender).
I am only mentioning this because you did not say which remote Dish shipped.

The two remotes that came with the 622 are a 5.3IR and a 6.3IR/UHF. The replacement remote is a 6.2IR/UHF remote. I was thinking of sealing one in a plastic bag for the TV in the master bath. I thought it would be nice to have two remotes for the second output, one for the bedroom and one for the bathroom, neither is in line of sight.

So if I understand you well are you trying to control two tv with one remote controler or are trying to use for a new tv in the bath with the
622. If you use the new remote for the 2nd turner it will work but you'llhave to change the remote address in the rec.. menu
