VIP 622, OTA Locals and EPG questions

Got a couple q's about getting program info into the EPG for my OTA locals.

I have it set up with a local PBS outlet. This station broadcasts four digital feeds. 2 are 24hr SD (-1 & -3), and the last two (-4 & -5) alternate. -4 is SD, and -5 is HD.

Right now in the EPG, all I get is "Digital Service" on all 4 feeds.

I do subscribe to satellite locals (NYC area).

Should I expect the "Digital Service" to be replaced at some point by actual program info? Is there something I have to do to initiate the load of that info?

Second question: Where I live, I can receive Phildelphia locals with an OTA antenna. If I program them into the 622, will the EPG show them, or will I only get EPG info for my NYC area stations?

Thanks!

It does not matter which dma you get ota, you will get guide info if you subscribe. I also have NY Lil's and get guide info for Scranton on my ota. Hopefully dish will get guide info for all the channels and subchannels soon. I do use titantv for guide info for the channels marked with digital service.

There's nothing you can do; the station has to send the channel encoded with the program info. If it doesn't, then all you will get is "Digital Service" in the program guide.

I have the same thing with NJN-HD (PBS affiliate) from New Jersey; 4 subs, one in HD, but all they ever show is "Digital Service", while every other local channel shows the program info.

NJN-HD has been that way for years, and I'm not expecting it to change anytime soon. Then again, I remember the same thing with CBS-HD, and eventually it started showing program info, so... :what:
