811 Local Channel - Device Locks

Greetings:

I've seen a post or two about this issue. I switch to a particular local channel and after about 2 seconds the device freezes and reboots, going to the last channel it was on before freezing. It's consistent.. I can cause it to happen every time. I've tried the 'disconnect the antenna and re-add the channels' trick to no avail.

Indeed, this issue has happened on 5 different 811 units I've had. That's right, they've replaced units for me 5 times. I've used different antennae, different TVs, different rooms, different hookups... no worky.

Any ideas?

I have the same problem....so do my parents. I think the 811 is junk! After 4 months of putting up with this and other problems with the guide going out every time i turn it on.....I called and they are sending a replacement. My dad got a replacement a couple of months ago.....same thing happens...no difference in the problems. This 811 also has a tendency to loose the signals from the sat's.

I believe that Dish does not want to admit that they can not make the 811's work properly.

If not for having the center ice package....Id bail on DN right now.....im not at all happy with this reciever.

Dump the 811 and get the 211. The 211 is an mpeg4 receiver which will enable you to get all the new content. The 622 is even more desirable. I can't believe DN is still supporting the 811 anymore.
