Hello guys, I am new to this forum, and I just bought this TV! its a LG LCD 42": LG 42LP1R , and I wanted to know if it is possible to watch a HD DVD which haves 1080p Resolution. Remember that my TV only support 720p from HDMI. And, here in my country ( Chile, Southamerica ) we still dont have HDTV, just next year we will know which Format we are going to use, The US one, The European, or The Japanese...About this is my LAST question about. I JUST bought this TV and I was wondering, what will happen if in my country they decide to use a format that my TV was not builf for? I am going to be able to Watch HDTV anyway? or I am not going to be able to watch HDTV, that is the question. Hope you can help me! thanks in advance for reading!

Cheers :)

I am about 99.9% sure you are good to go as far as being able to play 1080P content (when we get some).

As for formats - that set has a setting that will go to the native format - so whatever you have - with it set there - it will show it properly. There is also 5 format settings total, if I recall.

Great set. I am about to get an LG PDP set, and really look forward to experiencing HD. I too will go with 720P. It will do all I want. As for 1080P - the bigger screens 50 and above are where there will be any real visible difference over 720P (IMHO).
