I am still confused. Do you have to subscribe to local stations to populate the guide with the 622 receiver and off air antenaee? I have tried to research without success. Several Tech support feel you must but they seem confused. My installer is not sure. My local stations in Orlando are not HDTV so I really see not need and my 211 does populate but it is a pain to go to this TV to find what I want to watch and record. I appreciate anyone's help.

The 622 will only receive digital OTA stations. If your OTA stations are analog then the 622 will not receive them. Don't confuse digital and HD. All HD stations are digital but not all digital stations are HD.

I am receiving the HDTV stations with no problem but I have no program info on the guide. It just says digital service. If I purchase the local non High def stations will this populate my off air program guide.

You can create Favorite's Lists, you can use this to shorten the number of channels viewable in your guide.

I purchased the local stations and now have the guide working properly with my HDTV stations on the off air programing. Thanks for the help. I do not understand why Dish has made the 622 different other than to increase the monthly fee.

The 811 was the only receiver made that had guide listings without subscribtion. Every other receiver from the 6000, 921, 942, 411, 622 and the 211 (there are some who are posting they now get the info without subscribing, not sure if this is all of the 211's or select few) needs customer to buy the local package to get them. Only reason is for Dish to get the extra $5 per month.

You need them so TV2 can have locals. Only TV1 can see the ATSC tuner.

I have the infamous 921 and have NEVER subscibed to locals. As of about 2 weeks ago all of my primary digital stations (OTA) have showed up in my guide--ABC,CBS,NBC,FOX,PBS, & TCT.:yippee: I have no idea why but I sure hope they stay there!
I'm in the Flint, Michigan area.
