I assume you are wanting to hook up an antenna to the 211s built in ATSC tuner. Depends on your location. I have a UHF antenna in my attic and can get all my OTA HD channels. As a rule, amplifiers only work when you split the signals. Cable loss is not a big issue unless there are very long runs of cable.
