622 splitting picture into 1/3s

I've read that many are having problems with their 622s randomly freezing up, and I'm in the same boat. Happens once or twice a week. Unplug and replug and it works. Last night though, the weirdest thing happened. The picture split into three vertical sections. The right half of the show was showing on the left 1/3 of the screen, the left half of the show was showing on the right 1/3, and a shot from some other channel was frozen in the middle third. So I switched through the channels and they all exhibited the same problem with the same frozen image in the middle. Unplugged and replugged and it was fixed. Has anyone else had this problem? I love my 622, but this is really getting annoying. I'm even using a laptop fan pad to keep it cool.

I have not had those problems....I think if I were in your shoes, I would call Dish, they will put you through to the tech dept, describe the problems, tell them you have tried all of their "solutions" like soft boot, hard boot, and you have the most current software download. Tell them you have to boot it several times a week, and would like a new 622. They should not give you a hard time, but if they do, be firm.

If you get nowhere, and they refuse to send you a new box, demand to speak to the customer retention department, as you are not satisfied, and will have to switch to DTV if that's what it takes to get a box that works!

If you do a search here, you may be able to find the customer retention direct phone number. But, I am hopeful that they will send you a new box without too much persuasion.

Thanks for the info. I actually called and spoke with tech support last night. The rep told me that he had never heard of this problem. He wanted to do some troubleshooting, but I was in the process of recording LOST at the time. He made a notation on the account and asked that I call back later. Í'm slightly hesitant to send the 622 back until they get these bugs worked out. Don't want to be in the same boat with the new one.

Same thing happened to me last night. Turned the receiver off and it cleared up.

Don't tell Charlie, he'll charge you extra for split screen viewing.
