Are there going to be any 1080p flat-panels below 37" soon?

I know that right now there are some 1080p 37" LCDs from companies such as Westinghouse and Sceptre, and soon more to follow from other brands. I don't think there are any smaller 1080p LCDs (or any other kind of TV) though, are there? I don't think there is any reason why 32" or smaller 1080p LCDs can't be made, are any companies planning to eventually market one?

there probably is a lower limit on how small a pixel can be made. and that will determine how small a screen can be made. My laptop, a sony vaio, has a 1920x1200 screen, and it's 17 inch widescreen. so I guess it's possible to make smaller screens.

i dont think there will ever be a 32" 1080p TV either.. i dont see the point to it.. its too small. the picture wont probably look much different then the standard 1366x768 resolution that almost all 32" have now-a-days..

not to be confused with LCD monitor and LCD tv screens.. two different things.

I disagree with what you said, EddieDZ. I think a 1080p 32" LCD will look MUCH different than a 768p one. More resolution, more detail (assuming the source is 1920 x 1080). They'd probably look far better for HD DVD as they wouldn't have to rescale. And they'd probably look better for 480i SDTV too, since having higher native resolution should mean they rescale better (as the native resolution becomes infinite, a display in essence rescales perfectly). It's not like smaller LCDs cannot be made at higher resolutions, as rudyus just said, there are some it's just that they tend to be *significantly* smaller than 37". It'd be nice if there were some 1080p sets in the medium-size realm between 26" and 32".

There is, I think, a limit on how small the pixels on a Plasma can be made therefore that is why there are no Plasma TVs smaller than 37" at all. But LCD it doesn't seem to be a problem. That's also why small Plasmas tend to have screen-door effect problems, I think (big plasmas won't, assuming you sit proportionately farther away from the screen).

the majority of consumers buy 37" and above for main living rooms.. for 32" its mostly for master bedrooms and small living rooms, so i think companies will and are focusing on this thus they are providing the better quality in the larger TV's.. i just cant picture companies making 1080p 26" tv's LOL!.. also the price increases so i dont think consumers are going to want to pay more for a 26" 1080p vs a 26" 720p.

They should make one they should make one! :) I'd buy a 26" or 32" 1080p set for my bedroom.

As it stands now I'm considering getting a 37" 1080p set for my bedroom even though I will be sitting like 4 feet in front of it....but I'd really prefer a smaller TV.

Dont forget the RV market. Plenty of demand for 32 or smaller 1080p.
