I got dish installed a couple weeks back and the HD channels have problems. They lock up all the time, and ESPN2HD doesn't work at all. The only channel that works fine all the time is Discovery. I had two techs come out here, tried two different 211 receivers, and still the same problems. No one knows how to fix it. The signal is strong, all SD channels work great, just the HD channels have problem. Once in a while they all work great for a few mintues then start locking up again. Anyone heard of a similar problem or have any clue what might be wrong?

So the techs that come out say "I dont know" and leave? I would call dish and say I want if fixed right or I am leaving for your competitor. I have a 622 and the HD looks awesome.

When they first installed it, everything worked fine. 10 minutes after the guy left, it stopped working. I had someone come out a few days later and he figured it was the receiver that was messed up. I got a new receiver, the same problem. Another tech came in, he had no clue. He was like "we haven't installed too many of these in this area so we're still learning..." I called many times, still nothing. This last time I called they said they would report the problem to their engineers and see if they can do a software upgrade or something to fix it. But I was actually going to call today and tell them to upgrade me to the dvr receiver for free and fix this asap or come pick it up cause this is just ridiculous... I got dish so I can watch the soccer World Cup in HD and they can't get their act together...

The majority of the HD channels are on two different sat locations. You did not say where you are or what dish(es) you have. DiscoveryHD is on 110 and ESPN2HD is either on 61.5 or 129. You could have a problem with 61.5 or 129. Are you having problems with HDNet, HDNet Movies, TNT HD or ESPN HD as well? Or just ESPN2HD and the Voom channels?

I'm in Chattanooga, TN 37421. It's a dish 1000 with the 211 receiver. Now that I think about it, it's the voom channels that don't work on sat 129. Discovery, espn, tnt, work fine. But they were able to get a pretty good signal. They said that's not the problem. Also like i said before, the channels work from time to time for a few minutes then go out.

Voom, ESPN2HD and Universal HD are all on 129. Your problem is with that location. Check the wiring, connections, lnb and switch. What is the signal strength?

The signal strength is about 65. Shouldn't these people that installed it know how to do it right and check for problems? Isn't that why I paid $49.99 installation fee? If I had the time I would learn all this and do it myself....
