622 Goes Blank

All in all, I've been very pleased with my 622 receiver and the installation. Since my installation, my receiver has gone blank and shut down a handful of times. It goes through the hard shut down process, which takes a few minutes, and then its fine again. I don't really have a good feel as to what causes the shut down. Does anyone else have any experience similar to this or better yet, a fix?

Mine shut down twice today,reboots by itself. Have mine 5 weeks,before today would shut down once a week. Otherwise works fine. If this continues i will ask for replacement,mine is a lease.

Same issue with me. It shut down the other night in the 4th quarter of the Mavericks/Spurs game. Arrgh!

Ditto with mine. Have had it a month and reset it 4 times. Two weeks ago I ordered and installed a laptop fan-pad underneath of the receiver. It drops the temperature of it significantly, but I still have have had to unplug and reset it twice since then.

I have the same issue along with lots of other problems. Audio on HD channels always cuts out. Have to do a reset to fix. Also TV2 sometimes jitters, have to reset. Also when fast forwarding DVR, sometimes locks up the dish, have to reset. I have called Dish 5 times since I swithed from Direct TV 4 weeks ago and all I get is that they are aware of all these problems and working on a software download to fix. Cant believe they sell something that has so many problems with it! Wish I would have stayed with Direct TV, never had problems with them. Just switched to get more hd channels, and its been a real pain in my backside!

Mine shuts down every night at 3AM. That is it. I have had to effect a hard reset a few times, but nothing too major.

Same time every night? Sounds like the nightly update. You can change the time so not to affect you recordings. Press menu; preference; updates. Lets you change time.

you should expect the 622 to have problems seeing as it is a new receiver. They are pretty quick to replace them if you have problems though. And that is what it sounds like.
The only other thing it could be is if you are living in the western states you are getting a crappy signal off of the 129 and it will give you a black screen or just a picture and no audio.
