The Yankees meet the Mets this weekend. For Dish people on Friday, we know we will not see this in HD (unless you can get it OTA) as both games are on their respective broadcast channels. 9 and 11 respectively. :(
Big question for tomorrow. The game is on Fox5. That channel is available in HD but if you scroll ahead to 1:00PM on Sat 5/20, it does not say anything about HD in the show description. This is a major bummer if this is true.
The Sunday game is on ESPN Sunday Night Baseball only so that is a sure bet we (NYC area people and everyone else) will see it in HD. :yippee:

Fox shows its Saturday regular season games in enhanced definition, but not in high definition.

Does the definition of "enhanced" possibly include "widescreen" 16:9 format? I hope so.

I haven't watched any FOX games so far this season, but last year it was indeed in widescreen 480p. FOX doesn't do regional matchups in HD, just national games. It's mostly because the local RSNs do not allow other networks to use the native stadium cameras, which means FOX would have to pay a ton to rent and install mobile HD cameras for the game. ESPN offers the Sunday games in HD because of a combination of their commitment to HD and the fact that they only have to pay for one game per week.

IMO, FOX is lame for not showing the game of the week in HD.

I agree 100%.
It's 2006... no sporting event should be in SD only. You would think they'd make an exception for important matchups like this. Not only does this series have statistical importance in the season (since the Phillies are playing the Sox this weekend too), but viewership is extremely high in the largest market in the nation. Seems like it would be good PR for FOX to show off their 720p HD sports coverage.
