Dish 1000 wobbley???

Check this out,

I had 622/1000 installed three weeks ago.....lately, the 129 channels have not been able to lock at all- hence I can't watch them....

Tech is supposed to come out today..I went next door to borrow a neighbors ladder (very tall) so I could have a look before he comes

My neighbor climbed up there and said...."look"...the ..I don't know what you call this part, but the part that looks at the dish...the rectangle thing, maybe you call it the transponder?? well...it is very bendable...., my neighbor's dish (500) has that thing locked up tight, but mine can bend up and down....

So after he played with it...I now get all my channels with the 129 sat channels around 60 signal strength and 110 - 119 anywhere from 80 to 122!!

My question is, should that transponder part be screwed down somehow?? I see two screw holes, and they are empty...it looks like the transponder slides onto it, but it isn't all the way down either....

If anyone out there is knowledgeable - please post your response!

Thanks,
cm

Ok....the techs came out early!

They sent two guys....very friendly and knowledgeable....I explained the problem...as soon as they saw the dish 1000 they knew what was wrong....on original install....the tech did not even install the W bracket....this is the bracket that keeps the "eye" in place.....which is why we could bend them and get a better signal this morning.....

So, I don't know if I should blame the first tech...I was trying to get out the door that day...but come on....put all the hardware on before you leave pal! The guys told me that when they went up the ladder, and touched it....it fell right off! They were surprised, that the dish didn't fall apart already! Also they said pretty soon I would have lost all signal!!!

129 signal strength is 60! This is plenty good...and I don't anticipate any more problems with signal.....

So, all is well again......love the local dish service here...very quick to respond ....the guys did say never to call Dish at the 800 # to send a tech, because they will charge you....we have a local dispatch #, and these guys have a "dish" truck....not subcontracters at all.....pretty cool....

I did ask them about 118 sat....they think everything will be transferred there, because new HD channels are coming this year!

Anyway.....just goes to show you that you really have to set aside an entire day for install, and you much check the hardware yourself!

Off to watch some HD...afterall, it is Mother's Day weekend, and since I have two kids...I'm taking today and tommorow!
