Is It Worth The Extra Money ?

I have the Dish Network Platimum package with a couple ala carte channels added,plus..one of my dvr's is leased.My monthly bill is about $129.00...we have 4 tv's.

My local Dish Network high def channels suck.Where I live the signal strength is low for the local HD channels.Picture cuts off all the time.

Adelphia has their broadcast basic local HD channels.If I add that ..along with the HD receiver they have which I would lease from Adelphia.The cost would be $20.00 a month..in addition to the $129.00 I already pay Dish network every month.
Is it worth having Adelphia's local HD channels added ?
Before DN added lacal HD I was getting Adelphia's local HD channels and they looked GREAT.But since DN raised their prices I'll be really pushing it if I get Adelphia's Local HD channels too.

What would any of YOU do? This question is for those of you who truly enjoy HD content.

I thought "Platinum" means everything besides PPV. What are you getting ala-carte? As far as DISH HD locals I dont know about PQ. Are you that far away that a Yagi wont bring them in? My HD locals are like 28 miles away and my corner reflector brings them in real strong (~90 strength).

I am also sure you can cut $20 off the DISH bill somewhere. I have the HD Platinum as well and watch about 5% of the channels. I should drop it to the HD Silver with HBO. That would save me about $18 a month.I dont even really watch showtime that much and I got HBO for the Sopranos.

I believe Rickbbb is in an area where he can't get his locals OTA in HD.

I am in a similar situation in Tucson, AZ..Catalina Mountains block the towers and I can't see them.

So I pay Comcast $18.99 a month for limited basic which includes the local HD's(CBS,NBC,CBS,FOX, WB, UPN,PBS) and $108 a month for Dish Network Platium package.

Is it worth it? No. But I have to have The locals in HD.I won't have my wife watch American Idol In SD. Are you kidding!!

I feel fortunate that I can get my locals in HD via OTA. I cant imagine watching CSI, 24, Lost, Alias, House and American Idol in SD. That would be unbearable. I am also a believer that OTA has the best HD.
