 Having trouble still with the 129 satellite and was trying to fix it.I was scrolling threw the satellite screen on the point dish screen .I saw 118 sat??? I WONDER WHAT DISH IS PLANNING TO DO? These are the satellite #s I saw 61.5/105/110/119/121/129/148 and of course 118.Maybe they maybe planning to move some channels to that spot in the future????:yippee:

So if E* moved/mirrored HD channels that are currently on 61.5 and 129, onto 118, and if there were a new dish and/or LNB's that could receive from the 118 location... then those of us with 61.5 could receive all of our HD programming with one dish, and folks with 129 signal strength problems could get reliable reception?

Yea ,
Lets just hope that happens. You said something in a previous post about that.It would definetly bring down alot of frustration that seems to be going on with this unreliable bird the 129:hithere: :D :D

I've got my fingers crossed :yippee:

I just hope it doesn't cost too much for any "upgrade" equipment that might be necessary ;)

I read on here that someone has the Dish 1000 like I do and a 211 receiver like I do..and all of a sudden it has the 118 signal listed on its signal strength selections.

I too have an option, on my 622, to select the 118 location signal but, that doesn't mean I can receive anything from it.

I'm simply suggesting that I find it unlikely that anyone will be given access to programming from that sat location without first upgrading their equipment in some way... only time will tell :)

The dish 1000 will be able to pick up the118 sat.I read somewhere though that depending on your LNBS on your dish you might have to get them swapped out.

From what I've read, transponders from the 118 bird will be leased, and may be broadcasting in both Ka and Ku bands... I'm not familiar enough with my equipment to know if a DPP Twin LNB and D500 will be capable of receiving these signals... Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Well Im not sure,Im only speculating this.I think they will have some dual lnb for the 118.7 and 119 sat.Since these are so close together. We would also Im sure get an software upgrade, but that will be the easy part.

I have a 211 receiver and I looked on the receiver menu and there is no option for the 118 satelite.

:hithere: Go to the point dish screen. When there ,arrow over to satellite number, and then arrow up and down. You should see it then.

I see it when I go to point dish..but there is no signal on that 118 satelite mode..it just stays red.

AMC 16 is moving into that slot, not there yet. No one will see any signal there until it is ready to be reactivated.
It is also likely to be FSS satelite and a different lnb will be needed.
