My 622 and 211 install went well, but the HDMI to DVI (using proper cables) was dead on arrival. My Sammy DLP looks for a signal and then gives up. I so hate to start the phone process again!!

I assume you have 2 cables. geoffe 05-09-2006, 11:06 PM oops, should have been more clear. Only the 211 has the problem the Pioneer Elite the 622 is connected to has no DVI. Mark Picarro 05-10-2006, 05:32 AM oops, should have been more clear. Only the 211 has the problem the Pioneer Elite the 622 is connected to has no DVI. My HDMI connection on the VIP211 went dead after about two weeks..no fix as of yet. Nightowl 05-10-2006, 07:39 PM Just had that happen to me. Back to component hook up. Better than nothing, but definitely seems like this connection is susceptible to something - perhaps voltage hits? Will call Dish, not that it sounds like that will do any good. ;( eHDMI 05-11-2006, 08:42 PM So all of these are dying on the VIP211? Have you tryied restarting the receiver? It seems a bit suspect. It seems a bit suspect. Is this seriously the first time that you're seeing someone complain about this issue? geoffe 05-12-2006, 06:21 PM This is too funny. The Dish installer left a number on the top of my Service Agreement receipt; 888-333-DISH. He said to call that number first if there were any provlems and if my HDMI did not start working. I just called. Tina asked if she could help, and when I told her my HDMI had been "dead on arrival", she said,"You mean the installer". After my hearty laugh and then my explanation of what an HDMI is, she said that she couldn't help as she was in retail........representing Direct TV. Yup, 888-333-DISH gets you to a Direct TV sales office. And the beat goes on!!!! | |
