i had the 622 with dish 1000 installed a couple of months ago. lately, my screen freezes but the sound continues. i end up seeing something like snap shots of the video instead of the constant stream of video. dish is sending someone out in a few days to look at it. has this happened to anyone else and does anyone know how to fix it? thanks, mike

It's more than likely caused by a receiver glitch or bug..which has been mentioned in this forum MANY TIMES.In the future they might fix the glitch by way of transmitting a fix to your receiver software.Having Dish Network come out is a waste of time.

Or it could be caused by something flying by your satelite dish outside or a cat that likes to hang around on the roof or by trees or bushes that move with the wind? Anything is possible.
But the frozen picture is usually caused by a receiver glitch.

Make sure there is a clear line of sight from your dish to the satellite, it sounds like signal interruptus.

I just had my 622 HD receiver installed a couple of weeks ago. I noticed this problem abt 3 days after the install. After spending about an hour checking everything I could check, I called Dishnetwork and the nice Asian lady who barely spoke english told me that it was a known issue and they are not sure if it's a hardware or software problem, but they are working on it. I asked if I could get some credit, since this is not watchable. She said no because there is a tempory fix for the problem, you can either pause the channel that you are watching for a few minutes and watch the recording (which doesn't freeze) or you can reset the receiver once every 2-3 days. I asked how long this known issue had been going on, and she said since Feb 06.

It's just great that I'm paying $70 per month and have to put up with this crap. I use to think Directv was bad, but compared to dish network they were awesome.
