Assuming you have a display with DVI input. You might try components connections also. Often there is little difference in picture quality.

I think you need male HDMI and female DVI if your using an adaptor, if using a cable (which would be better), then it should be male to male.

The cable listed will eliminate the adapter and provide the right connections. An adapter is a good decision for those who already have an HDMI/HDMI or DVI/DVI cable.

Get an HDMi to DVI cable off ebay for ~$10.

well the installer came and installed the 211 today but the first time he just swaped boxs and called it in, then nothing he used compontent cable andhe got the hd silver to work then left but did not hook uo 110 or 119 just 61.5 i called dish and they had him come back out then he got it to work he got but it was a fast quick install i was vary un profeshional,
