PS2 connection

I just bougth a PS2 and didn't see any connections for cables that give me a better quality picture. The PS2 book even says something like it doesn't except HD pictures. But after reading some of these post it sound like it can or come close to a HD picture.
I have is connected to a 50in HD Samsung TV.
Can some help me out with what I need to do to get a better picture out of my PS2

Componet cable will do the trick make sure you change your PS2 internal setting to componet or you will have picture problems. ;)

funny cause when the book was writen back when the PS2 launched...there was no idea that the PS2 was going to have one game that outputs in HD(1080i) which is Gran Turismo 4.. most other games just have progressive scan options(480p) but even with 480p one needs to buy the component cables for the PS2. i think they cost like $14.99 3rd party and $19.99 for the Sony brand. i'd go with the sony brand. try EB games they usually have them. good luck!
