I have put a down payment on this set, and have the option of a 5 year extended warranty (in home) for an additional $299.00 Those of you that have had this set for awhile, do you think the extended warranty is worth it? It basically boils down to I either get the warranty or use the $299 to upgrade my dish network to the new 622 hd dvr. Can't afford both right now.

Alrhough I do not own that set my thoughts are to always buy the warranty.I've been there in the past at the check-out line and you know there gonna ask you but you dont wanna lay it out but man I've been lucky a few times that I bought it anyway and it worked out.I mean who knows, even if its a model that dont usually have problems...what if?I always feel like I'll get the anomaly, the one unit in a million that a craps out without the warranty. Also is cable an option for you...I have Comcast and I know other cable companies offer similiar deals. We get,and the prices will vary by region and time of new service,Dual Tuner HD-DVR boxes without buying them,Comcast charges like 8 bucks a month for the box.Well anyway like I said,I would almost always in big purchase fork it up for the extended.
