A story in the New York Post today talks about a new kind of TV being made by Phillips (I believe) that takes HDTV to the next level.
3D! And you don't need the kooky glasses either.
They say a 42" 3D HDTV of this type costs a whopping $17K!!
It is not yet for sale to the general public yet and won't be for a couple of years but lets start getting ready..

Now is the time we all start calling Dish for the new (or is it still upcoming) Penthouse HD Channel.. Did I say upcoming?? Oops.. lol

How do you get 3D out of a 2D flat screen? The "kooky glasses" manipulated your vision to see in 3D.

I'd be happy with just more HD channels, and HD DVDs, which we have yet to exploit.

I always thought the current HD looks like it's a 3D Picture.I can't imagine anything better.
Also, when they announce these new tv's coming out ..why are the televisions always 2 or 3 years away from being sold and why do they always cost beyond what the average person can afford when they finally DO go on for sale !
Ridiculous !
SO,if this tv comes out in 2008..the price will probably fall 3 to 5 years after that to a price we all can somewhat afford.

LCD HDTV's are still pricey..and they came down ALOT in price within a few years.
