orod75 02-01-2006, 02:20 PM I guess ol' Charlie forgot to tell all his reps the lease fee is free. I dvr'ed the Charlie Chat and played it back to the supervisor and of course he was like uh oh uh oh it's $49 no matter what, do you want the 211 or not!!!! I was shocked this morning when I called to upgrade the receiver that I was charged for the 211 upgrade because I don't need a dish 1000. I then asked the guy well what if I need a dish 1000 and he said it would be another $49, but Charlie said $49 total not $98 total. I think this is all CRAP if you want my opinion.
me too. i have exact same situation as you. dn cs is really bad
dcamp31 02-01-2006, 02:57 PM What gets me is the 18 month contract renewal!
orod75 02-01-2006, 03:04 PM I already knew about that, but I mean our hands are tied if we buy the 211 it is 300!! and if u renew your contract it's $6X 18 months = 108 and then you are free to go to directv or upgrade to a newer receiver either way you gotta pay nothing is free not even the lease upgrade :(

callmeblade69 02-01-2006, 06:57 PM which is actually true for me. i dont know if it makes a difference, but im in los angeles and i just had my 811 replaced with 211 and also replaced my dish 500 to dish 1000 for a total of $49.00. no more, no less! :yippee: never had problems talking with a csr nor any misunderstandings with them...i guess im one of the lucky ones...hehehe
kcribb1 02-01-2006, 07:31 PM I paid the $49.00 and received a $49.00 credit on my DISH account. $49.00 debit and $49.00 credit = free. :yippee:
jldhawk 02-01-2006, 08:34 PM BUT did you already have a dish1000? were you an existing customer or new customer, did you have a HD receiver to trade in to get your "FREE" receiver?
please elaborate.
kcribb1 02-01-2006, 10:04 PM I have one Dish 500 (110 & 119) & one Dish 300 (61.5). I was told I would need Dish 1000 to upgrade. I pointed out that I had 61.5 already, which was installed when I switched to E* from VOOM. Tech Support said, "Well, you're ready to go. Which receiver do you want?" I told her the 211. She stated it would cost $49.00 to upgrade; however, the $49.00 would be applied to my bill, which I confirmed when I got home via my on-line account. The $49.00 I "paid" actually became a credit .
That's free to me.
jldhawk 02-02-2006, 06:58 PM I have been dealling with my LOCAL DN dealer, they just called me this afternoon to give me the good news.
I'll get a 411 (They take my Leased 811) and they take my SUPERDISH and replace it with a Dish1000 (119,110 and 129) for a TOTAL cost of $49.00 + Tax.
I'll be up and running by noon tomorrow.
I called CS several times, they insist i have to pay 49 even i don't need any installation (i already have dish1000). and when i told them someone else already free upgrade to 211 from 811, they asked who?
so can someone getting free 211 upgrade give me some more information if possible?
thanks
orod75 02-02-2006, 08:37 PM Email Matt with your problem tell him you already have dish 1000 and tell him that on Charlie Chat the 211 was suppose to be a free upgrade!!! He will waive the fee because he did it for me.
E-mail: Matt.Kliewer@echostar.com
richiephx 02-02-2006, 11:29 PM They waived the $49 fee as well as the $6 HD access fee...they would not waive the 18 month committment
orod75 02-03-2006, 01:44 AM They waived the $49 fee as well as the $6 HD access fee...they would not waive the 18 month committment
Do you mean they waved your lease fee???
richiephx 02-03-2006, 10:56 AM no, the lease fee is separate from the HD access fee.
orod75 02-03-2006, 01:37 PM I paid the $49.00 and received a $49.00 credit on my DISH account. $49.00 debit and $49.00 credit = free. :yippee:
Yea I think theres something wrong with there system...lol. It seems like they didn't plan it correctly I think many people are going to have that debit credit thing happen it seems they are charging us $49, but it is counting as a payment towards our bill. Well it was suppose to be a free upgrade lease...too funny
jldhawk 02-03-2006, 07:53 PM I was expecting to be up and running by Noon, since the install Tech was supposed to be here at 9:30......................Well, I guess in a perfect world, tht would have happened.
6pm Central time, after NUMOROUS hard boots and resets, and test switch....My 411 is WORKING GREAT!
all the new channels are in HD, as stated.
Local off of sat are better PQ then old 811 was.
It was worth the wait.
