HDMI cable question

Hi all,
I'm planning the upgrade to HD with Dish, and I need to know what HDMI cable I need. I have the Sony KDF-E50A10, will eventually get the vip211 receiver. I want to order the HDMI cable before I get the receiver, but I'm not sure if I need the male to male or the male to female?? Any help for a newbie will be greatly.

Not sure what you mean. I have not seen any devices with male connections.

The 211 has female HDMI output. I am sure your TV also has female HDMI input. So you will need HDMI male cable.
