211 Problem And Question About Connecting Phone Line To 211

I notice when I watch my tv -all of a sudden the screen says Aquireing Satelite..this lasts about 2 to 3 seconds..then the picture comes back on the tv.
Does anyone know if this is one of the problems some people might have reported yet with the 211?
When I had an 811 I had periodic interruptions on my tv..it was different..a red and white screen would come on and it would say satelite Error.I later found out from Dish Network technical department that this was a common problem with the 811.

ALSO,I read on the boards here that the 211 might needs to be connected to a phone line.I wonder if I connect one of my two 211 receivers will that be satifactory?

I spoke to a dish tech today and she said the reason for this "acquireing satelite" message is due to the electrical grounding of this receiver.She asked me if I have it connected to a Surge protector..I said Yes.She said that could be causing the problem and to connect the receiver plug to my wall instead.

I've only installed a couple 211's so far, but haven't noticed your particular problem yet. I'll keep an ear open from these customers.

I can't imagine any electrical difference to the 211, whether it's conn. to a surge or direct to wall outlet????

And NO, it does not require a phone connection (unless you want to save a buck on a PPV movie).
