If the Life Time Channel is no longer part of Dish Network then why is it advertised on their website?

Because they are IDIOTS!

They still list OLN on there, and it's been month since that one went bye-bye. This site hasn't been updated in eons. No pricing on HD packages mentioned on Charlie Chat. It's pathetic!

Historically they have updated the site when major changes have been made. They are at least trying to negotiate with Lifetime and OLN. I wouldn't expect any update until Feb 1st.

They also list GuyTV and Majestic as still being a part of the VOOM HD channels. These were replaced with KungFu and FilmFest at least two weeks ago.

Currently am paying $115.37 a month.

Click on that Lifetime link on the Dish Home page and read the latest offer Dish made to Lifetime. Dish says they will give the channel back to all that want it at no additional cost but the customer needs to ask for it. I for one will not ask for it. I am just not that type of guy.. lol

I just spoke to Dish Network technical-today on Thursday January 26th,2006- and she put me on hold and she asked her manager if it's true that Lifetime would be available at no extra cost for Dish customer's For anyone who would ask for it now and could get it...well.....NO..this is not happening yet..nor do we know if it will ever happen. It's yesterdays news..because currently there is no answer-negotiations are still going on.PERIOD !
Her manager said that Dish is still in negotiations with Lifetime.
She also said that Dish Network made an offer to Lifetime ..to offer the channel to Dish Network customers as an Ala carte channel. In other words if a Dish customer wants the Lifetime Network channels they'd have to pay an extra fee of $1.50 a month.
Lifetime turned down that Dish Network idea. So it's back to the negotiation's table.
Did you know that Walt Disney Company owns Lifetime Channel. Well,it's true. So Now it makes sense why these guys are playing Hardball with Dish Network. It's all about the MONEY.

Lifetime Network Rejects DISH Network's Offer
January 24, 2006

Dear Louise,

Yesterday EchoStar offered to make Lifetime Network available on a stand alone basis to all DISH Network customers who desire to subscribe. This morning you turned down that offer, asserting that Lifetime should be available to all DISH subscribers at no cost.

EchoStar hereby agrees to make Lifetime available to all DISH Network customers who request the channel, at NO COST to those customers. Again, while we will make Lifetime available to our customers for free, we will pay the most recent rate proposed to us by Lifetime for the service. No further negotiation or arguing over rates.

We stand ready to act immediately. If you accept, we can have the service back on the air today.

Sincerely,

Eric Sahl
Senior Vice President of Programming
EchoStar’s DISH Network

I am not sure what to watch closer these days.. The Young and the Restless or Dish Network Letters.. lol

Now I'm Really confused !!! If Lifetime and Dish Network haven't come to an agreement how can Dish Network give it's customers this Lifetime channel if the customer asks for it?
What drugs is this DN vice President on who wrote you this e-mail?!!!!!!!!!!
Dish Network IS NOT Giving the Lifetime channel to any customer who asks for it !!!!!!!!!!!!
It's not available to DN customers.PERIOD !

A lot of people are confusing what DN means by "at no additional charge". What DN is implying, and not so well appearantly, is DN will charge the fees Lifetime wants per customer al a carte. The at no additional charge meaning DN will not add fees to that price with all the money charged would go directly to Lifetime. DN has no intention of putting Lifetime on and not charge for it.

Dish Network put that suggestion on the negotiation table yesterday-january 25th -if they could agree to have DN customers pay an ala carte fee for their channel.Lifetime turned Dish Network down Flat about that idea.So they are all back to negotiations all over again.
The ala carte idea is not an option.

Folks..
Some of you are getting this all wrong. This was no e-mail to me. I copied and pasted a text that was sent from Dish to Lifetime. It shows somewhere on the Dish web site.
Dish proposes to Lifetime that there shall be no price increase to anyone. Weather they ask for Lifetime or not. If you want Lifetime, call and they will turn it on. I have not seen a Lifetime answer to that. If anyone sees a counter proposal to this online somewhere, let us know. Thanks.
Funny if only 100 people out of 12 million subscribers ask to have it turned back on. Remember.. Dish will only pay the price for those who have it activated.
This is just like a great game of chess.. lol
In the end.. It will just truly show to all how valuable Lifetime is to everyone. I for one will not be interested..

Walt Disney Company and Hearst Publications(does that mean that Patty Hearst is part owner of this company?) owns the lifetime networks.Aren't they all heart? NOT.
By the way ,not all the "negotiation answers" will be posted online .Calling Dish Network and talking to a supervisor will get you current info too that may not be posted online yet.
There were two Lifetime channels on Dish Network that were taken off.
