How do I get new HD in February, confused?

Ok so I currently have the regular DN HD package, plus the voom channels. However I get no local HD. I was considering an OTA, but then a DN representative told me to just wait until February becuase DN is going to add local channels in HD in several markets including mine! Now I hear that I will need a new reciever and that my current 942 won't work. What should I do to make sure I am up to date on all HD. Will they let me trade up my 942. which is leased for $199? Or should I just install an OTA? I want to make sure I get all available HD.

Your 942 will continue to receive all the hd you currently receive. If you want to pick up the 5 new voom channels, plus whatever new hd channels eventually roll out, you will need a new mpeg4 receiver, which would be a 211 or 622 (dvr) -

will you need an mpeg4 receiver to get your new local hd's offered by Dish?....I believe so

Since you have a 942 - I assume you will want the 622 which has a dvr. If you wait until April 1, you can trade in your 942 and get a 622 for a net cost of 99.00 - you will also need a dish 1000 to pick up the new programing - which I believe will be offered with install for a price of 49.00

in addition, the olympic channel which will begin 2-1- will be available on your 942 - it will be broadcast in mpeg2 - and there is no additional fee, you do not have to order this channel, it is free

Will you be able to trade an 811 for the 622 for the same costs?

Ok so it looks like I'll just need ro upgrade my reciever. Can I get the 622 now. Is it an hd reciever and dvr? If I wait until april will it be cheaper to upgrade, I believe you said $99 IS there anywhere you can see a 622 on the web (photo) perhaps specs and info too?

You need an HD DVR (921, 942, etc.) to trade in for the 622 to get the April 1 deal which includes a 200 buck rebate on the $299 price.
Otherwise, it's $299 beginning Feb. 1st. But sure beats paying $698 (no lease available) for a 942 if you were a continuing customer last year.

Dishdepot.com is taking pre-orders for the 622 DVR receiver.It will probably come out sooner than April 1st through them.They are a retailer of Dish Network.They give a trade in discount.Their phone number is at their website.
They will be selling this receiver for $649.00 I think.But I also think they will be giving a $200 discount in addition to that price if you send them your old receiver. I really don't know..so call and talk to mark about it.Price could end up being lower with the trade in.

I don't think anyone is saying the 622 will not be available until April 1st.
It is supposed to be available Feb. 1st.
But the $200 dollar rebate is not effective until April 1st, for those who can take advantage of it.
