Feb 1st and 211 upgrade not likely!!!

Ok guys I called the executive office yesterday the week before the big Feb. 1 upgrade and rep did not know much about the upgrade so he put me on hold got the info from his boss and guess what it sounds like on Feb. 1st they will start releasing the info on the packages and the equipment, but the upgrades will not happen in March now. So basically they will take orders, but it won't happen for another month!!! I hope he is wrong, but it is the executive office!!

I called yesterday as well, though it wasn't the executive office it was a CSR and you know how those guys can be :) , this guy sounded like he really knew something and he said that their instructions were to tell people to call back after Feb 1st because they really don't even know yet what the company is going to do......

Yea I got that same feeling, but when they get all those calls on Feb. 1 they will say some BS and tell us March.

I bought my 211's from dishdepot.com.They are up and running.
Dish network tech person told me on the phone today-January24th,2006- :yippee: that the new Mpeg4 channels will start on February 1st,2006.

The problem for us 811 owners is why pay $300 approx when we should be able to upgrade for free, I can do some waiting for that kind of cash :D

Yea I can't justify paying $300 because I could lease the 211 for 5 years and it would add up to $300 and you don't think Charlie will have a new receiver within 5 years. Of course!!!

I called yesterday for about the tenth time. I actually got an American CSR. Or he was just really good. He knew exactly what I was talking about. He even cracked a joke. I am convinced he was within our borders. He told me the 211 thing would start on Feb 1 and the DVR promp would be April. He said in April there would be a $200.00 rebate on the 4 MPEG DVR.

My luck, it was probably a wrong number :(

Always ask for the i.d. number of the customer service person you are talking to or of the tech person you are talking to when you call Dish network..that way you can refer to that person if you ever want to tell Dish Network what he said.Their i.d. numbers are all individual..no other person who works there has that number.
