HD DishNetwork in a Condo - Chicago

I just moved into a multi-story condo in Chicago where Dish is our tv service provider. At this time I think the only HD receiver option available to me is the 811. From what I understand, this will not pick up the new MPEG4 HD local channels. Is this correct? Can I get the newer receivers on my own? Does my condo building have to have special components for us to pick up the new HD channels?

Any info or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

As far as DISH goes, just get whatever HD receiver they are offering unless you want a HD DVR. Then just wait a little longer before buying.
From what I see here, most CSR's will say you will get an 811 but the installer will show up with a brand spankin new 211. Look around this forum and you will see many will confirm this.

But you have something else to worry about. One of the satellite antennas must face the 61.5 or the 129 orbital position satellites. You may only have access to a DISH 500 that looks at the 110 and the 119 orbital positions. A DISH 1000 or a DISH 500 plus a second antenna is a must to get the HD channels and everything else DISH has to offer. This question can only be answered by your new neighbors who are "in the know" or the folks in charge.

I hoped that helped.
