The upgrade to MPEG4 channels and equipment...

Since upgrades seems to be such a hot topic, I stole this poll idea from another forum...

I'm currently letting my local DISH retailer deal with tracking down the details, but before I spoke with them I was a bit discouraged. I still am a bit baffled at how a company can be so disorganized about something of this nature. I figure that in another week or so everything will become easier.

My first install of my First 211 was last week...Dish tech on the phone guided me through the install...he ended up giving me no reception after being on the phone with him almost 2 HOURS !-so he sent me another 211 which I already sent back because about one hour after the Dish tech had hung up the phone my 211 started to work !
I bought a 2nd 211 from Dishdepot.com and I'm installing that one tonight ! Hopefully the install won't take forever like the first 211 install took ..and hopefully I'll talk to someone who knows how to set up this receiver ! :D

hmmm... it would appear that, so far, the smart money is on waiting until at least February 1 to investigate upgrades.

Unless they tell us, Sorry, there is an availability problem. We already have receivers reserved by many who called before Feb. 1st. :eek:

By "we", what do you mean. I tried to call and reserve one and was told I couldn't. :confused:

Of course, most of you are going for 211s I guess. It's the 622 for me.

My local dealer has 411's in his whse, he has one with my name on it. RESERVED

Same here. We are have so many home projects going on, landscaping, etc. I'm trying to squeeze in my 622 as a necessity for stress reduction. With a hot tub also on order that's becoming a weak argument!

hooked it up
check switch
download software
call csr to activate
took a total of 30 min
no probs here
im in the Boston Market :-)
i called last week to get 211 from D
took 6 days
even sent a paid shipping lable for the return of my 811
