We recently purchased samsung HDTV DLP #5667. We are extremely unhappy with the reception on non-HD channels like local CBS/ABC/NBC channels (pittsburgh area). Picture is quite fuzzy. We have HD receiver and the HD channels that we get on DISH look really good but regular channels suck. DISH customer service has been unhelpful. We are thinking of swithching to cable. Anyone else had similar problems? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. At this time DISH network doesnot appear to be very HD-friendly.

You may be confusing you problem. It appears the Samsung is not working well with the SD channels, not dish SD working with the Samsung. I've helped a local installer, and we've seen several sets do that. Primarily the plasma and LCD's.

I had dish for 3 days before going back to cable. SD channels are very poor and I couldnt deal with the "HD lite". I wouldnt take Dish or Direct if they offered it to me for free.

I don't think you've identified an issue that is limited to Dish. Take a look at this link (http://www./voice/showthread.php?t=14280) for more information related to HDTV's and poor SD quality. You might also take a look at this link (http://www./voice/showthread.php?t=15263) to ensure that you've set everything up properly.

If you're able and willing to receive OTA locals, you'll likely notice significant improvement in PQ on your local channels. For more information related to OTA in you area check out www.antennaweb.org
