Sign up now or later???

I am looking at signing up for Dish Network, I would be a new customer. I looked at doing this 5-6 months ago and decided to wait for multiple reasons. The biggest reason is that I am not eligable for local channels through Dish Network, as my DMA is one of the few that don't qualify. I have recently purchased epuipment to recieve OTA locals and plan to instal them on Tuesday, Jan 24.

When I looked at signing up 6 months ago, my local Dish retailer purchased a 942 to instal at my place and since I never signed up he still has the same reciever sitting in a box at his shop. (I never commited to signing up, but for some reason he ordered it anyway.)Since he is coming on Tuesday to help me hook up my locals, he is wanting to move this 942 before it comes obsolete. (I don't blame him) Anyways, should I wait to sign up for Dish when I can get the 622 for $299, or pay the $250 for the 942 on Tuesday and hope that dish's upgrade program is $299 in April with a $200 rebate, leaving my total investment of $350?

He has offered to give me a $50 credit so he can move the 942 now and that brings my total investment from $350 down to $300. (Which would be the same price as waiting until April for the 622)

Sorry this is long, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

HMMMMMM Let me think.. NO WAY!!!!! Kinda like asking yourself would you pay full price for a car thats a year old when the new model has better features for the same price? Youre hurting yourself by going with the 942. You wont be able to get the HD Local Network channels with the 942. Nor will you get the other channels being launched in February and there after .. Just as of Feb 1 you wont be able to receive about 6-8 HD channels withouth the mpeg4 receiver.. More channels will be added in mpeg4 format in the near and further future. SO WAIT IT OUT.. whats another month or so.. good luck

Tell your dealer to trade the 942 BACK to DN for a 622, let him eat the costs.
