Lease HD receivers

I spoke to one of the Dish reps and they were unaware of the option to lease a mpeg4 box for current customers. Have any of you heard different? :confused:

Man that's pathetic! Hopefully by the 1st of Feb. MAYBE they MIGHT know what the hell's going on. :(

Keep calling. You will eventually get someone who knows whats up. You will be able to tell them right away as these CSR's speak fluent english with no accent.

The new MPEG-4 receivers are ONLY available to be leased by DISH. I got mine for $50. Then I had the option to send back any old receiver that I currently own (they can even be broken but must still be activated continuously for the previous 6 months at least) for a $25 credit. I sent them an old 2700 with a face plate that falls off but it works. Net upgrade cost = $25.

MPEG-4 DVR's will be available with a reasonable deal on 4/1/2006.

There is nothing available until Feb 1st. CSR's do not receive any notice till new items are available. You may reach someone who will tell you what is going on, but nothing can be done till after the 1st.
