I have DN right and will be buying an hdtv soon and would like to know what I need to get hdtv from DN. All I have now is the regular dish 500 with the basic reciever. I want to get the best Dn has to offer right now in terms of equipment and such. Will I have to buy it or will they give it to me for a 2 year aggrement on programming. Thanks.

If you are current dish subs but new to HD:
You will be able to turn in any receiver you now have (as long as it has been in use for the last 6 mos.) and Dish will lease you a new 622 HD DVR for $299. Doesn't seem to matter if you own your current receiver or lease it, ya still gotta turn it in. This will include updating your Dish antenna so that you can receive all of the new HD that will be MPEG4. This will probably be a Dish 1000 that sees sats at 110/119 & 129 locations. If you life in the Northeast you will instead get an additional antenna (dish) that will pick up the HD from the sat. at 61.5. The 622 is SUPPOSED to be available after Feb.1st. CURRENT HD subs that OWN (and paid big $$$ for) 921 or 942 HD DVR's may LEASE a 622 for the same $299 but if they wait 'til after April 1st they will receive a $200 rebate.
Hope this helps, yer welcome. :hithere:

This is a great forum with lots of good information. I am not getting my HD TV until late March, so timing should be great.
