RG-6 Cables Frequency

About two years ago I self installed DirectTV in the apartment I live. I went to RadioShack, at that time, and purchased the RG-6 cable for DBS. I do not know what frequency the cables are, but the Cust Rep at DN told that they might need to be replaced in order to receive the HD signal form the dish to the receiver, because the cable require higher frequency. How do I check if the cables I have are sufficient enough to handle the HD?

That's correct. The rating is usually printed on the cable itself. There are not cheap tools to check the rating on the cable if you can't find it. I would try it and see if it works, if it doesn't just buy new RG6 cable. Home Depot and Lowes sell decent cable if you need long runs.

Is this a self install or Dish Network will install for you? Dish Network will provide you the cable for free.

Your RG6 should be fine for any Dish HD receiver.
My 811 currently runs on buried rg6 that was installed with my old C-band dish in 1986.
