Can anyone answer this...
The 1080i/p WMV files from Microsoft play in WMP10
(but the VIDEO is choppy)
Same exact files... Played in Media Player Classic
(but the AUDDIO is choppy)
Is my cpu just not powerfull enough.. what audio codec is WMP10 using, and can I force Media Player Classic to use it?
how can i resolve this???
Is there a better player for these files?
Thanks

Try playing it with win dvd or power dvd, Media player is probably the worst player out there. Also HD content is very CPU intensive and can cripple the average PC.

I have tried Intervideo Win DVD Platnium 7, VLC etc... none of those work..
WMP10 - Plays with choppy video but perfect Audio
Media Player Classic - The exact Opposite
Which leads me to believe that somehow it can work...

Have you done an ad/spyware scan before playing? If you have adware installed, it can cause this behavior in both players. Video or audio won't play well with ad/spy/malware on your computer no matter how fast or what program you use.
Do you know if WM Classic has a brightness adjust on the player like WM10?

Try use BSplayer or MPlayer with latest FFDshow which replace all of the codecs.
Other players (not shure if they help):
VLC player, Elecard, Zoomplayer, DNTV Live!...

I think it is the the pc...
even if it was an AMD 1.8ghz, that would still be below a 3ghz Intel P4.

I'm running 2.5 on my Amd and have no playback issues, even my P4 2.4c can play HD content with no issues. It's all about the ram if you have dual channel get some OCZ PL 3200's it cured the P4. The 3 gig thing is BS try tighting up your ram timmings you will be amazed what it can do for performance.

The Quicktime 1080i/p trailers will not work either...
The only way to get the video to play with no problems, is using Media Player Classic.. But the sound is messes up :(
I think its just the CPU.. its SD 133mhz Ram 2X512
I think its just crap ram in there.

The Quicktime HD vids play fine on mine with MPC, but then I've got a 256Mb Vid card and 2Gb of RAM. And 3.2Ghz proc.

Its bout graphics cards - if they support most of HDTV formats than load of CPU can come down from 80% to 30% i.e. you dont need so much GHz.
Wait for next GC gen.
