Questions;
1. Does Verizon use Rovi's TVGOS for their Guide data source?
2. Do they give you a hard time regarding renting/leasing CC's (Cable Cards) using your own equipment?
3. Do they force you to rent/lease one of their DVR and/or STB's (tuners) for these 'package' prices, artificially inflating the total monthly price due to requiring one to rent their equipment, even tough you have your own that is CC compatible??

1. I believe Verizon still uses FYI, but they definitely don't use TVGOS.
2. You can order cable cards when you place your installation order, or by chat, phone, etc. You won't get "a hard time."
3. You are not required to rent one of the Verizon Set Top Boxes.

Thanks for the reply. Obver 180 views and no one had the answers?
"FYI"?? :confused:

But, aren't the "packages" (specials) set to include their STB's?

Verizon's channel packages generally do not include any STBs. They occasionally have specials like a "free DVR for life" (whose life I don't know :) ) and they might have other specials at times, but the standard double and triple play packages don't have STBs in them.

TWC 'scams' you by first, stating a "package" price, but doesn't include the necessary 'lease/rental' cost of the equipment, nor does it state what the regular/normal price is/would be after the promotional period (which doesn't seem to end as there is another 'package' available at the time of renewal).

Its not really scamming when all the companies do it, cable Satellite, and FiOS. With FiOS they have free- for- life DVR's (with triple play) , and possibly 1 free -for- life STANDARD box.

The cable card rental fee is $3.99 for your situation.
