Temporary Shutdown of Receivers

When I leave Florida to go to NY can I unplug all receivers and TVs and then call DTV later in the week or do they have to be plugged in when I call them ?

Unplugging the receivers for any extended time, When the receivers are powered up again they will need to be re-activated either from your online account or by calling D* to re-activate your service.

If you are suspending your account - then you will need to call D* to have your service restored.

Going away for 6 months and will reactivate by calling DTV...so the receivers can be unplugged and I can call them a week later to shut them off ?

Yes you can, I wasn't sure what you were doing - But to Suspend your account - They Stop Billing , If you unplug the receivers they stop talking to the SAT and go to sleep - but that won't stop the Bill :)
