There was an older thread about copying from a DVR to other device. Np posts in over a year. Where are we today in terms of the equipment needed to accomplish this?
Also, if I'm interested in setting myself up for the future for viewing internet feeds over my Sony Bravia TV, what components should I be looking at?

You can use a recording DVD player to copy DVR content to a disk or you can use a video card for SD or a Hauppauge product to import HD files into a computer. None of these allow direct digital file copying and use the analog outputs on your DVR. Not much has changed.

Once you get the files into a computer, you can convert and copy them to many different devices.
