OTA and Wireless Laptop ??

This is weird..

I have OTA in my living room. TV working fine, channel coming in clear.

I noticed that when I boot up my HP laptop (using wireless) in certain positions/areas of the room the TV channel starts fading in and out. Once I move the TV to another part of the room, the station starts working OK.

Does this make sense to anyone?

Indoor antenna? Amplified?

Either your wireless (ATT/Verizon?) connection (3G/4G?) or the laptop is creating interference.

Get the antenna further away from the laptop.

If you're using a wireless service from either of those companies and an indoor amplified antenna, your wireless signals are probably overloading the amp in the antenna.

Rooftop Antenna, with amplifier in the basement.

We have ATT - DSL wireless for internet connection.
the router is physically upstairs.

I just thought it weird, since these should be on different frequencies.

So you have wifi, not wireless internet service. Different names, different services. It helps to both be precise and to provide information that is relevant.

It is for your wireless signal conflict.

My LCD monitor interferes with low VHF 4. If channel 4 signal is just strong enough I can see the picture pixilate to destruction when I turn the monitor on and clear up when I turn it off.

So it may not have any thing to do with the 802.11x wireless.

Oh My TV is an LCD to but don't think it interferes like the monitor.
External tuner 7 feet from monitor and 3 feet from the TV.

Try temporarily disabling the laptops wireless and see if the interference happens. Then close the laptop lid and test again.
