Looking to come back to DirecTV

We had DirecTV for probably 8-9 years. We decided to try Uverse last September as it was going to be cheaper, at least for the 6 month introductory period. Turns out we don't like Uverse (HD quality issues, picture freezing, seemingly can only have a limited # of sets running at once, etc).

So what advice can you guys provide as to what equipment I should get and how good of a deal to try to pull off? We have 5 HD TVs in the house. I never took my dish down, so hopefully that will make things a little easier. I assume I should shoot for the new HR34 as my sole DVR along with 4 non-DVR HD receivers (not sure what the latest model is)? Should I call to speak with retention or since I am not a current subscriber a different department?

I had read differing opinions as to availability and cost of the HMC receiver, so was curious as to what I should expect on those fronts as well as how many non-DVR HD boxes I should expect to get for free.

I have since called Directv and am all set with installation in a little over a week with an HMC receiver and 4 HD non-DVR boxes. I had to pay $99 for the HMC (tried to get it for free, but that was the best I could get) and the other 4 boxes, new dish and installation for free, so that seemed reasonable. They are also refunding me my early termination fee I paid last fall, so that should cover 2 months of bills.
