How slick is this new interface! :cool:

Not only are the menus (DVR, Guide) *finally* in HD (what the hell took them so long?), but the new design and color scheme is really nice.

If you've got DirecTV, you'll be in for a pleasant surprise when you turn your DVR on today. :)

I've got DTV, but the new guide is being rolled out in phases. Don't have it yet. Hell, I'm still enjoying the fact that ESPN 3D has been changed to 1080i so I can finally get it through my soundbar.

I like the new interface but it has added additional slowdown/delay in button presses and registering on my screen. I am going to do a red button reset of my dvr tonight or tomorrow and see if that helps. Currently there is like a 2+ second delay between a button press and me seeing it have an effect on-screen.

At first I wasn't getting DD, only stereo (as I saw dolby PLII appear on my avr) but turns out that it was the channel I was watching having audio problems and not my hd-dvr.

I've actually always had lag on my DTV DVR.

The update doesn't seem to have changed it; it doesn't seem like it's either slower or faster. Seems pretty much the same for me.

I'll have to check that out. As of this morning, I didn't notice any changes with the guides.

Well according to Nexgenrulz it's being rolled out in "phases" so you might not get it for a few more days or so.

It's really nice though...basically your menus no longer look like they are being run on a Commodore 64. :lol:

The only reason I know this is because there's a thread up in the DTV forum and someone posted it.

DIRECTV this week will launch a new 5-tuner HD DVR that can also store up to 200 hours of HD programming.

That's according to the community message board, , which says it was tipped off by DIRECTV resellers.

The HD DVR, model HR34, enables viewers to watch any show in any room with one DVR. According to SatelliteGuys, the $99 set-top (after a $300 rebate) will also:

* Include a total of 800 hours of storage, including 200 hours of high-def programming;
* Enable viewers to watch two shows at once without having to change channels;
* Record and delete shows on every HD DVR in the house;
* And provide DIRECTV 'Whole Home' DVR service in four different rooms.

I have Directv and haven't got the update as of last night... I have the HR22 DVR. Where would you order the HR34?

Edit: here is the link of DL times for the cities/area's.... how in the hell is Houston not on that list???

Rebooted (hard reset) my box and the button lag is now back to the same as it was prior to the update - not great but accepatable (not worse like it was before the reboot)

I would be considered the Albany, NY area -- and that's not on there, either. :(
