Just a FYI for any fellow PSN+ members who didn't notice this yet... I just saw this morning that TR:U is a free DL atm.

Never got around to playing this one, what a nice surprise.

(all the Spyro games are free right now as well, if anyone cares, I personally do not.)

I must say after a couple of months on PSN+, I will never let it expire; it is such a kickass deal. The amount of money I "saved" on free and discounted games has WAY more then paid for the membership fee.

Well done PSN.

I just bought the TR Trilogy off Amazon back in October for $18. Great buy for the 3! Currently on sale on Amazon for $16.99 in case you're interested in the first two as well. They look pretty good too remastered in HD!

I know I should sign up... I'm just too cheap to actually go through with it

Though like I said in the beginning it is a good deal if you would be buying these games otherwise, a no brainer.

Sure, and that's the whole reason I put "saved" in quotes. Because really, I wouldn't have been buying TR:U today no matter how cheap it was...

I have similar arguments with my wife constantly, who is a HUGE fan of buying stuff on sale that she never would have bought normally, and then telling me how much money she saved me.
(Woman-logic hurts my brain)

Thing is though, even if you weren't intending on buying this stuff, it's still there, and it's a great effing deal.

I've had it for I believe two months now, and I've gotten every Crash PS1 game, Hydrophobia, TR:U, Costume Quest, and about 2 dozen mini and flash-type games for free, as well as really nice discounts on virtually everything else I've bought in the store. It has paid for itself several times at this point.

Besides, the free and discounted games are only one piece of what makes PSN+ so nice. The automatic updating, game saves to the cloud, and other such improvements to the system are awesome. It is a happy little treat every time on turn on the system now and it tells me it updated 3 of my games, backed up all my saves, and downloaded two new game-trials for me, all while I was sleeping.

I've also made pretty good use of their whole game-trial system. That is a bad-ass concept if you have the bandwidth. Select from a couple dozen new-ish games and download them in their entireity. Then you get to play it free for an hour, and if you want to keep it, you pay the discounted purchase rate, which I have done multiple times now.

Beats the living hell out of a demo.
