Do 1080i TS files contain 3:2 pulldown flags?

Are HDTV 1080i60 TS-files 48i + 3:2 pulldown flags (like NTSC DVDs) or 60i (with duplicated fields actually in the video)? Wouldn’t you need a software player with good 3:2 pulldown detection for these files? I’m getting deinterlacing artifacts with VLC, which doesn't seem to have 3:2 pulldown detection. Artifacts shouldn’t occur with film source material. A simple weave should do it.. Suggestions anyone?

Thanks.

here's an article - 2 yr old and about DVDs that may have something like an answer to the question - it also lists about 20 dvd's with known puldown flag problems http://www.hometheaterhifi.com/volume_10_1/dvd-benchmark-guide-to-progressive-scan-shootout-1-2003.html

Thanks for the article, maicaw. However, it doesn't answer my question..
