Normally my monitor resolution set to 800x600
Do i have to set to 1280 x 1024 ....etc. when i want to view HD?
Or system will set it self automaticly?or it'll view highest resolution it can go?
Thanks.

Set it to 1280x1024 when watching Hd movies. A little higher would be better for 1080i but if thats your max res then oh well <_<. Dont forget to set your resfresh rate to a near multiple of the frame rate of the movie.
Example.......
29.970 fps movie = 60hz refresh rate
23.976 fps movie = 72hz refreshrate
Actually my monitor only 1024x768 max. When view HD sometime i switched my monitor from 800x600 to 1024x768 and try to compare them but see no difference.I'm looking forward to buy 1280x1024 monitor then i just wonder if i have to set monitor to 1280x1024 and will see diferrence?

if you have a 15in monitor, that is the maximum. if you have a 17 incher or higher, then its the graphics card's maximum. it is possible to still view the hd. if you go use windows media player, just set your video at full screen playback or set it to 50% from original size and set your resolution at 1024x768.
Yes my monitor is Socos 15"
Should i chang to Sony FD trinitron 15" 1280x1024?(not enough space for 17")

most 15 inch monitors will not support 1280x1024. If you find one that does, then it is probably your only choice.
HDTV videos on 800x600 monitors really make no sense at all.
A normal DVD allready has about 500x700 pixels.
Even worse, a wrong choice of resolution can very much deteriorate the video quality, even if it is rather high:
For example, take a video with a horizontal resolution of 500 pixels and a monitor with 501 pixels. Even though the monitor actually has a higher resolution the picture will be much worse since the PC tries to stretch the video to full resolution by interpolating pixels and taking means.

well, does it matter if its lcd or crt?
with crt, you get better color reproduction and accuracy...
lcd, you get more space...
he said "not enough space for 17"" so i am assuming that he is going for a crt.
Yes,i think crt better color reproduction and accuracy. But lcd just get more space.
I think i should keep old 15" for now, maybe too small but better than big lcd.
Surely not better, but less expensive! :)
