So if I were to say that all 10 episodes of Band of Brothers were available in 720p DTS5.1 on bittorrent and all you had to do to find them was to search for 'linus' on torrentspy.com, would that be in violation of the rules?

I don't know - if I were to say thank you for that content, would that be in violation of the rules?

Hey guys - I'd appreciate a reply if you plan to or are downloading these with BT - i'm just curious to see how popular this kind of post is. Depending on how well people seed (my share ratio is between two and four for all 10 episodes) there may be more in the works... ? :what:

That's brilliant especially considering Band of Brothers is an HBO original mini-series and not produced or distributed by the studios that the MPAA represents... "Hi. I'm the MPAA.. I like to waste time fighting battles i'm not paid to fight..." :yippee: :yippee: :yippee: :yippee: :yippee:

Those 720p files that the original poster speaks of are re-compressed divx files of the original 1080i (uncompressed .TS files) that were available for a long time. I would not waste my time downloading divx if I were you guys.

Oops,,my bad,,I forgot to mention the MPAA's affiliate association's and also the fact the 1976 Copyright act put a lot more teeth into the illegal distribution of copywritten material. Unless you consider that since it's HBO,,,they don't have the copyrights to their own material. Guess again buddy...:yippee: :yippee: :yippee: :yippee: :yippee: :yippee: :p

as far as i understand, there is nothing wrong about talking about how to get high def material on this site. there is a matter of telling people to go to a certain site bootleg material.
for example:
OK-Hey guys. How can i obtain a copy of the high def movie "Sonicularulus' Adventures." I really am interested in getting that movie, one way or another.
Not OK- Hey guys! Where can i get an early copy of "Sonicularulus' Adventures."
or
Early release of Sonicularulus' Adventures available. Go to getbootlegshereearly.com!
Not OK-My website got hacked! Lets start sharing HDBL (high definition boot legs) on this site! (its a long story, but some of the older members may find this example funny).

What's wrong with DIVX?
The original Band of Brothers episodes were originally in uncompressed .TS format. The ones for download are *COMPRESSED* Divx format, therefore don't look anywhere near as good as they once did when they were in their original .TS format....That's what's wrong with Divx.
If you like wasting countless hours downloading LOW-QUALITY *FAKE* HD, then go right ahead, but I myself, would never do that, especially when the original .TS videos still exist in 1080.

Always go uncompressed...
However, compressed format isnt that bad either and shouldnt be considered fake. I have seen trailers in multiple formats (from wmv to divx to ts) and there is a slight difference, but it isnt too big to ruin the high def experience.
