Hi all, this is my first post and I'm looking for advice on a Toshiba Flat Panel 50 inch tv. I think it is only a year or so old, I bought it off a guy in hopes to get it back up and running. When you plug it in, there is no picture, just a blinking red power light. Any suggestions on a fix for this? I got quoted $100 to $1000 to fix it and this just isn't acceptable since that range is a bit wide. I don't want to be taken for a ride for something that will probably be simple to fix. Help? :)

Toshiba hasn't made a plasma in several years, so it's definitely more than a year old. You failed to give the model number, so there's no way we can tell how old it is nor much more about it. And I'm sure that it will cost more to fix than the price of a new plasma. :what:
I hope you didn't pay more than a couple of bucks for it, because it would likely be cheaper to just buy a new one. As was said, Toshiba last made a plasma TV back in spring of 2007 I think. So it would be over 3 years old if it is a plasma. Are you sure it is not a LCD? Regardless we would need a model number as a first step to even try to help.
The reason the wide quote range is that if it is the panel they cost more now than a whole new TV when you buy parts for them. Kind of like cars whereas if you bought all the replacement parts for a $20k car it would probably cost several hundred thousand in cost for ALL the parts.
