High all...

I am a new Dish Network customer trying to fine tune my home theater setup.

I have a 811 reciever, JVC surround sound, and Panasonic plasma monitor.

My problem is that ther volume is controled with the JVC home thater reciever wich is programmed under the Aux. button.

So if I want to flip channel I am stuck going from "sat".. channels.. "aux" volume.. "sat" channels.... "aux" volume....

Because the volume is defaulted to the TV under "Sat".

Is there anyway to change this or even put the JCV surround system as the "TV" in the remote?

Thanks in advance!

I have not actually tries this but it may be worth a shot. Try scanning the remote in TV mode to see if you can get the JVC to turn on and off. Then it might work. I will try it with my JVC and see if it works. Then post back.

What model JVC do you have? I have the RX-8040 and an older RX-809V.

Ok, thanks for the help fellas. :)

I actually found it with some help on another forum...

The technical name is VPT Volume Pass Through.

I found it on page 74 and 75 of my "Dish Satelite System HD user guuide"

It allows you to have the volume under Sat. default to AUX instead of TV (wich is programmed from the factory)

to change it:

hold AUX
wait for all mode button flash
Press (#)
Press (volume +)
Press (0)
Press (#)
Press SAT
Press (volume +) and (volume -)

To go back to the TV as default do the same thing but start off holding TV instead of AUX.
