What to do with multiple "filename.000.ts" files

Hi, I am a real NEWBIE.

I just downloaded a bunch of files:

Bladerunner.0000.ts ---> Bladerunner.0197.ts

I have NO earthly clue how to join them so that I can BURN a DVD.

This was originally posted in:

alt.binaries.hdtv.repost

I tried Winrar, DVD Shrink, Nero and it was NO CAN DO.

By LUCK, I some how managed to create MPG files (it took 20 hours) to transcribe them and burn at the same time with:

HDTVtoMPEG2_1.10.6

Now I get a DVD "a la slide show" as far as the menu goes with NO
SOUND, No REAL menu selection.

What did I do wrong? Why no audio?

Are files posted in abHDTV.repost "split" (e.g., separate video
streams and audio streams)?

Thanks for any info. :hithere:

Open hdtv2mpeg
Add
Output File Name: Type Transport Stream
Under "max size" type in 4400 to fit on a single layer dvd
Hit convert
Could take about 10-20 minutes depending on cpu

Just burn it as data, and it should work. :)

.ts (transport stream) files are packet based so they can be chopped up into pieces which is easier for many people to distribute them.

use HDTV2MPEG2 to join them back together, just make sure to the .ts format as the MPEG2 conversion is broken, that mayb be while your files would not play.

as noted if you set the clips size to your DVD size - actually it is a good idea to use smaller file sizes like 1100mb if your player can play numbered files in order. you can burn them as data files to DVD-Rs but they will not be playable in a normal DVD player. HD is generally not playable on standard DVD players and really defeats the purpose as the DVD spec doesn't support HD resolutions, etc.

Finally forget all that damn DVDs (and all that marketing mess with other formats) and use your HDD in PC via DVI for your format free HDTV life!!!

its true...DVDs arent the best format for hd media..
its like getting Digital Movie formats onto betamax...lol
well probably not..but the solution is to get a media center pc...
or if you dont have the money...get a G-Play
