Hello,
I have my cable provided by TW in the Albany-Capital Region of NY. When using Component hook ups, my screen has no shake to it. When I use the HDMI cable I purchased to connect from the cable box to my LG HDTV, the pictures starts to shake or twitch.
It's very subtle, but obvious if pointed out. Has anyone experienced this, either because of a faulty box or bad HDMI cables? I'm trying to think if I'm disabled from using HDMI until I replace one or the other.
Thoughts, suggestions? Thanks!

Does it shake when using another HDMI port on the TV?
Does it shake when connecting another peice of equipment via HDMI? Like a DVD.
It's most likely not the cable itself. It's either the cable box or the HDMI input.

Many cable companies do not support using the HDMI connection as there are too many HDCP handshake issues. Since component gives you just as high quality HD picture as HDMI, it is advised to use that.

I have this problem. Its the cable box. I have a SA 4250hdc box from TWC and every once in a while it will give a shaky picture. Its very noticeable while viewing the channel guide. Speaking of the devil I just turned it on and its shaking. Just reboot it.

I'll try the reboot and see if that helps. If not I'll switch back to my component hook up.
Unfortunately this is my only device I use HDMI for...and my LG only has one HDMI port. (I guess that's the first sign of an old HDTV...and by old I mean purchased in Aug. 2006.)
I'll follow up with my results. Thanks!

I'm using a LG W2453V, DVI input from my PC and HDMI input from the Time Warners Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8240HDC. The screen will shake just like described above.
I'm leaning towards the cable box as the problem,
1) My old cable box never had this problem, same model just had a different problem (took 30 minutes to reset)
2) Not total isolation here but, no other input to the monitor has the problem.
3) Disconnecting power from monitor does nothing.
4) Disconnecting power from cable box fixes it.
I don't have another monitor or source to isolate the problem further.
